Be careful what you are thinking...soon, it might make you a criminal

Another doosey just got passed by the left in the Senate: they attached hate crimes legislation in a defense authorization bill (voted on at 1 AM, mind you) that will criminilize your speech and associations (all 28 no votes were republicans; 5 republicans voted for it). This legislation violates not only the 1st amendment's guarantee of free speech and assembly, but also the 14th amendment's guarantee to equal protection under the law (as previous 'hate' crime legislation has done)...that U.S. Constitution has become so antiquated, you know.

Essentially, if you commit a crime, then the magazines you subscribe to, blog comments you have written, words you have said, churches or other groups you belong to, etc. can all be scrutinized for 'hateful' content (to be determined later). Such access to hateful thoughts will give you a stiffer sentence than someone who only subscribes to a politically correct thoughts (again, to be determined later). This bill is so eggregious, and so far left of the mainstream, that even the ACLU has come out in opposition to it!

But don't worry, I'm sure the Democrats are just looking out for your best interests...and they will NEVER use it against you for political purposes...nooooo.

Is it 1934?

Look in detail at this photo and ask yourself, "Has anything changed since 1934?". Why must history repeat itself? Answer: those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.

Like your health care MA residents?

Here is a funny video describing Obama's health-care plans...using Massachusetts' health care plan as comparison to Georgia (hat tip to Breitbart TV):

No, the media is not in the bag for democrats

Watch this video (skip to 7 minutes if you can't stomach it all, I don't blame you), and try to answer the questions posed after...

How in the H-E-double hockey-sticks did Bush and the republicans get blamed for the housing crash-induced recession?!!!

Why does Barney Frank still have a job?

Are you surprised that our economy is in shambles, when Franklin
"housing CAN'T fail" Raines is now Obama's chief economic advisor?

Obama's selective mingling

Last week, while Iran's mullahs concluded yet another unfair election, Obama took the courageous stand of the middle-ground by declaring "How that plays out," Mr. Obama said, "is ultimately for the Iranian people to decide." This, while those seeking democracy in Iran were being bludgeoned to death in the streets, by the state-sanctioned thug-ocracy. Apparently, it was his belief that he shouldn't mingle into Iranian politics. Fair enough, one might say, after all didn't we engage in enough meddling during those terrible Bush years?

In today's news, Honduran president Zelaya, was ousted after trying to illegally hold a referendum that would allow him to seek additional terms in office; illegally I say, because their constitution says that he cannot due this without approval from the other branches of the government. He did not have approval from ANY branch of the government, not even of his own party. When he tried anyway (getting the ballots from Chavez of Venezuela, none-the-less), the Supreme Court ordered the military to arrest him. They did, sent him into exile, and now the rightful next in line (according to their constitution, the top man in congress) is interim president until scheduled November elections.

Strangely, however, Obama doesn't seem to be in his "no more mingling" kind-of mood:

"We believe that the coup was not legal and that President Zelaya remains the president of Honduras, the democratically elected president there," Obama told reporters after an Oval Office meeting with Colombian President Alvaro Uribe.

Strange, how Obama won't fight for freedom, but he is so quick to fight for a dictator wanna-be. Jimmy Carter, the sequel.

Close Air Support (well...moral support anyway)

Watch in disbelief (click here) at the new rules of engagement that our troops are obliged to follow under the kinder, gentler, war doctrine of the Obama administration…

Apparently our troops are no longer entitled to close air support unless they are "in danger of being overrun". Is it Obama’s objective to raise the death-toll of our soldiers to the point that the U.S. populace says ‘uncle’?

The duplicity of the Democrats’ Health Care Plan

One of the central lessons of high school Civics classes is that anticompetitive behavior is detrimental to society; so detrimental, in fact, that whole governmental oversight bodies were established early last century to identify and break up companies that engage in these practices. In those civics classes, we were all taught to despise the tactics of the Andrew Carnegies, the J. P. Morgans, the Vanderbilts, and the John D. Rockefellers of the world. And for good reason: without competition, a company can charge whatever exorbitant rate it wants and in return provide whatever substandard services it wants.

One model that high school student are given that allows them to visualize how anticompetitive practices work to destroy competition is that of the gas station owner. In this model, a big, rich gas station owner (think Rockefeller’s Standard Oil), sets up shop next to local Joe’s gas station. Since Standard Oil could pull resources from many other gas stations (and other businesses) it owned, it could afford to temporarily set its gas sale price below the market rate, and drive Joe out of business, thus creating a local monopoly.

Well, you say, there’s nothing to worry about today; the Morgans and the Rockefellers are vestiges of a bygone era, and our government protects us against such scoundrels. Yes they do, but who can protect us against the government and their anticompetitive intentions? The so called “Public Option” that that the Democrats want to include in their massive health care bill is every bit as anticompetitive as what the Morgans and the Rockefellers did. How so? Well let’s look at the largest healthcare provider in the U.S., Blue Cross Blue Shield. There are 39 franchises of this insurer, each in a different region (so they are actually separate companies, just like McDonalds franchises), and they insure roughly 100 million Americans. The annual revenue for each franchise is in the low billions (for example, about $3 billion for the New Jersey affiliate). But for argument’s sake, let’s assume they are all one company and have revenues of $120 billion (again, aren’t and they don’t). Well the U.S. Government’s revenue for 2008 was $2.5 trillion! Barack Obama says he wants to “keep the health insurance companies honest” by offering a low cost “public option” (shhhh…Don’t say ‘Government-run healthcare’!). What Obama will do in fact, is park his Rockefeller-like health-care gas station right next to Joe’s and run him out of business…that is their plan…that is their intention. He will use your money ($2.5 trillion in tax revenues) to outcompete local franchises until they are driven out of business, and until the “Public option” is the only option.

Look above to the bolded-italicized text and re-read those words carefully. This way, if and when the Democrats heath care plan goes through, you will understand why your taxes have gone up so much, why you have to wait so long for a doctor’s appointment, and why you weren’t prescribed the latest advanced medicine. If you think this is scare-mongering, do your own research and see what a nightmare the much vaunted (by the left) government health care plans of Canada and the UK have become.

If you want your local doctor’s office to have the look and feel of your state DMV, sit back and relax. Otherwise, get off your duff and email (at least) your state representatives and tell them how you feel.

The Obama Apology Tour - Sort Of

You may not have noticed, but BHO is on sort of an apology tour (for Americans). As indicated in an earlier April 2009 Mullally Report blog , the Anointed One went on his very first European tour and he did one faux pas after faux pas. Now he is trying it again the way Americans want to see it. On his second such tour to Europe and the Middle East, he is doing things differently. This time he didn't bow to the king of Saudi Arabia when they met. This time he didn't worry about hurting the German's 'feelings'. He visited a German concentration camp instead. This time he didn't by pass visiting the American cemetery in Normandy while visiting France. He actually made a point of visiting on the anniversary of D-Day.

Who knows... Maybe he is starting to listen to people.

Let Them Eat Cake

Unemployment is nearing 10 percent and tens of thousands of American auto workers are about to lose their jobs (their sacrifice to our future generations according to a speech today by our President). This weekend, this same President took his wife on a $24K date to a Broadway show and dinner (courtesy of us taxpayers).

Must be nice...

BREAKING NEWS

Due to a sharp cut in funding, Salty's Classroom Quiz, the ever popular weekly brain-teaser, published in such high echelon papers as the New York Mimes, and the ST Louis Desperatch, announced with much regret the termination,as of this week, of this highly respected education article.
When told the news, former VP Al Gore stated "Now what will I do with all my spare time, this coming just when my Global Warming rant seems to be losing most of its hot air".

Every now and then the AP screws up and fails to edit out what can be considered good news to those of us that back the use of force against terrorists.
Usually when there is a success story, it's considered non-news by the AP.
I spotted a lapse in this policy in an article on the incursion earlier this year, by Israel into Gaza.
I'll excerpt their error---"Violence has largely abated along the tense frontier since Israel's devastating offensive against Gaza's Hamas rulers, earlier this year."
It was a long time coming, but I'd have to say the results of that incursion prove the theory that the maggots of this world only respect punishing responses.
I'd be willing to bet the editor of that article is probably been demoted back to copy-boy.

ONLY IN LIBBIE TOWN AND U.C.BERKLEY

The good guys finally won one, not a cease fire not a U.S. or U.N. intervention but a good old fashioned military trouncing of the Tamil Tigers terrorist organization by the legitimate Sri Lhanka government, and the dispatching of all their murdering leaders.
Wouldn't you think that all the people in the free world (except for the car bombers and their ilk ) would be rejoicing, along with the citizens of that war weary country,( in Colombo, thousands were celebrating in the streets ) at this good news ?
Guess again. In an editorial , the Boston Globe seems to be pouting.
They've published a list of "must do now"directives to the government of President Mahinda Rajapaska, the clear winner of this 25 year old dogfight, and insinuated he wasn't coming clean about civilian casualties, that "impartial" witnesses on the scene reported. (in the accompanying A.P. news article the complaint seemed to be that no one but the military was allowed in the war zone)
Among'st other whinings, they say the E.U. must follow up on its call for investigations of war crimes against civilians.
If the maggots won, would they be demanding the same?
They then go on to admonish that government to treat all their citizens in a fair way.
Once again, would this same warning go to the Tamil Tigers had they won? I think not.
Oh well,I guess if my team lost, I'd be bitter to.

SPORT-ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZHas baseball

Has baseball gotten real boring in the last year or so, or is it just me?
Where have all the big guns gone? What has become of all those walk-off game winning homers?
But wait, it seems that our erstwhile hero, Manny you know, being Manny hadn't lost his touch, until of course he was caught trying to get pregnant.
All of a sudden our Big Poppy can't get it even near the fence anymore, what has happened, what seems to be missing? What ever it is, a lot of the excitement is gone from the game, because some stiff-collars decided to take the juice away from the "boys of summer.

Bring back the steroids or adjust the outfield walls. Just joking, -----honest injune!!!

Obama wants more people to go to college (using your money of course)

With an ever-increasing display of compassion and generosity, Obama has declared that he wants to make it easier for the unemployed to gain access to Pell Grants to help people pay for school. Currently, the unemployed are not allowed access to Pell grants; this is for two reasons: 1.) you are supposed to already in college when you apply (i.e. not 'unemployed'), and 2.) when accepting unemployment benefits from the state, the state actually expects (get this) that you are actively engaged in finding a job for yourself.

However, not just anyone is eligible for Pell grants; that is because these grants are not merit-based, they are income-based. And no, they are not held exclusively for those who pay taxes (like you were probably about to guess, right?), but are instead for the 'needy'. In fact, even if you, yourself, are 'needy' but your parents are not, you probably won't qualify.

This proposal is a trifecta for Obama, since he can distribute more wealth from the wealth creators to the wealth consumers, simultaneously remove a whole lot of unemployed people from the 'unemployed category', thus prettying-up his dismal economic stats, and make important inroads to his goal of establishing "free" college for everyone.

I see a whole lot of Bachelors of Community Organizing degrees being awarded in the near future.

A Lasting Tribute To A Hero Of Our Time

Thanks to a Tennessee legislature group, years from now, a person may be able to bring their children to the state capitol grounds in Nashville and show them the man who saved the world.

Yes, the Senate State and Local Government Committee just voted unanimously to build a statue of the hero of our time, Al Gore.

Only the state senate stands in the way of this becoming a reality. Tennessee senators, please do the right thing.

ANOTHER VICTIM OF THE LEFTIES

As a sad follow up to the article I posted 05-05-09 on the MULLALLY REPORT, this article is almost prophetic.
Boston Police say an eighteen year old black kid, on his way to a music class in Dorchester, was shot to death in broad daylight on Tonawanda St.
Ironically his mother had taken him to Florida at the age of five to escape the mayhem of Dorchester, but his grandmother talked him into returning here earlier this year. No suspects, no known motive, only a victim of a "victimless passive" crime, according to the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. Who knows maybe the perpatraters were some of the many criminals freed up the court's ruling against holding illegal gun suspects without bail for Dangerous Hearings?
By the way, this kid, by all reports was no gang member, just came home to Boston at the wrong time. And by the way, this happened just yearsterday a day after the S.J.C. decision.

TEST YOUR KNOWLEDGE

Who of the following groups would qualify as misanthropes ?
1. Al Qaeda and Taliban head coaches.
2 Josep Stalin, Mao Tse Tung, Adolph Hitler.
3 Islamic suicide bombers.
4 Liberals, who knowingly support the aforementioned by their deeds in politics and the media.
5 None of the above.
6 All of the above.
Tip, misanthropes abhor in a crazed way their fellow human beings. They're real mean people.

Results of the quiz next week.

ALL THE GNUS THATS FIT TO PRINT

In another step in the wrong direction, the Supreme Judicial Court, of the"Peoples Republic of Taxachusetts, in a four to one (wow not unanimous) ruling, sided with the street thugs (aka bangers), making it no longer possible for law enforcement to hold so called Dangerous Hearings, that permit the holding of illegal, unlicensed hand gun possessers, people with a previous criminal record, without bail, pending trial. They view it as a "passive, victimless crime".
C Sam Sutter Bristol County D A stated "they have no connect with the reality on the streets".
This ruling ignores the obvious ---they pack these guns to injure, kill and thus intimadate (terrorize) the neighborhoods they operate in.
One legal moonbat, Jim Wallace, of some legal Action League, claims he wants to work with Sutter, in a possitive way, to resolve this "minor licensing problem".
Relax Jim, the nutty SJC, the very same gang that brought us gay marriage, already resolved it.
Hey, instead of illegal hand guns, how about we call them undocumented hand guns, that should help the law abiding citizens of Roxbury and north Dorchester feel a lot more relaxed these days.

It's Official: Press Is A Weapon For Obama

Just released in an ABC News story: "A leading bankruptcy attorney representing hedge funds and money managers told ABC News Saturday that Steve Rattner, the leader of the Obama administration's Auto Industry Task Force, threatened one of the firms, an investment bank, that if it continued to oppose the administration's Chrysler bankruptcy plan, the White House would use the White House press corps to destroy its reputation."

We all knew the media was in the tank for Obama. Now they are no longer hiding it. When the media can no longer be trusted to tell the truth and be impartial, who can we count on?

Check out this video to see more evidence of how bad it has gotten.

This can't be true...

Two independent, non-partisan studies have shown that the media is in the tank for Obama, and have given him overwhelmingly glowing coverage in his first 100 days compared to Bush. In one of the studies, Clinton's numbers were similar to Obama's.

How is this possible?!...we conservatives haven't noticed that there is any bias in the media. They must be very good at hiding it (is my sarcasm dripping enough for you?).

"Global Warming" is a doubleplus ungood phrase

Like a page out of George Orwell's book 1984, liberals have concluded that the public isn't buying their phrase "global warming", and are therefore attempting to reframe the debate in Newspeak terms. A NY Times article quotes from an email sent by an environmentalist lobbying group, ecoAmerica (oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to use my newspeak translator: according to the Times, ecoAmerica is a "a nonprofit environmental marketing and messaging firm in Washington", not a lobbying group):

"Instead of grim warnings about global warming, the firm advises, talk about “our deteriorating atmosphere.” Drop discussions of carbon dioxide and bring up “moving away from the dirty fuels of the past.” Don’t confuse people with cap and trade; use terms like “cap and cash back” or “pollution reduction refund.”"

and this:
"remember to speak in TALKING POINTS aspirational language about shared American ideals, like freedom, prosperity, independence and self-sufficiency while avoiding jargon and details about policy, science, economics or technology,” said the e-mail account of the group’s study."

I suppose that since the envirowackos are losing the war of words (or what we sometimes call: oh, I don't know....debate!), since people aren't buying A.) their scientific arguments that global warming is caused by man, and not just natural global climate variation, B.) their insistence that the 'crisis' that they claim exists poses imminent danger to society, or C.) that their proposed solutions are either practical or economically viable, they should try a new tack.

Allow me to predict that its just a matter of time before our teleprompter-in-chief himself starts using these Newspeak terms, and that denial of blackwhite will be labeled crimethink.

Heroes?

Today, ABC News outed the two individuals who supposedly came up with the waterboarding interrogation technique. Trying to get us to revile these guys, they are not very convincing:

The new memos also show waterboarding was used "with far greater frequency than initially indicated" to even those in the CIA.
Abu Zubaydah was water boarded at least 83 times and Khalid Sheikh Mohamed at least 183 times.

What they fail to mention is that before the 184th waterboarding session, Mohamed finally told his interrogators about the plot to fly planes into LA buildings. I guess one can argue that the technique is in fact effective and saved countless US lives. Should these two men be considered heroes?

Swine Flu--Time for a little perspective

Have you bought your fashionable Swine-Flu surgical mask yet? Have you stocked up on provisions for the eventual downfall of civilization that the flu might cause? Have you cancelled your family vacation or business plans due to this imminent disaster?

Are you starting to get just a little feeling of déjà vu?

Wasn't SARS supposed to be a devastating pandemic? What about the deadly H5N1 Avian flu virus?

The fact of the matter is that SARS and H5N1 had less impact globally than your typical variant of the common cold (influenza virus). Each year, almost 30,000 people in the U.S. die from the common cold, and the number of deaths, worldwide, is at least 500,000.---that is an average of 82 deaths in the U.S. every day, every year!

...And not a peep from the local news about it...because normal events don't sell papers or airtime. Just a little perspective.

UPDATE:
Well, that didn't take long....Now scientists are saying that the "swine flu" isn't all that the politicians are making it out to be.

I could go on-and-on about what an asinine decision it was for the Obama administration to perform a "photo-Op" for their new jumbo jet over New York freakin' City, but the filmed reaction of real New Yorkers pretty much trumps any commentary...did I mention that the fools thought it would be a good idea to tail the jumbo with a freakin' fighter jet?!!

A Day In Bizarro World

  1. Obama does not lift a finger to fight the scum bag ACLU from getting pictures of prisoner 'abuse' that they will immediately release to the world.
  2. The man who made over $100 million last year peddling his 'sky is falling' global warming dribble testifies in Congress as a witness to global warming.
  3. Illegal aliens crossing the open Mexican border bring in a new deadly flu strain.
  4. Congress to give Obama a '100 day' gift by using a loop hole in a bogus fast-track 'budget reconciliation' procedure to ramrod universal healthcare through Congress without requiring 60+ votes. The only problem is that it must be done within 35 hours, so the fate of 17 percent of our economy will not be given the due diligence it requires. But hey, look at the what Obama accomplished in first 100 days!

When will the citizens of the US wake up and stop taking this abuse in power by our elected leaders. I, for one, am starting to get furious and impatient.

Pulling The Wool Over The Eyes of The Sheeple

A couple of weeks ago, $8 billion in earmarks was just a small fraction of the budget and was not a big deal. Yesterday, saving $100 million in the budget is a lot of money to most people.

Probably in response to the Teabag protests, Obama ordered that $100 million in savings be found in the $4 trillion budget in the next 90 days (it only took them about 2 weeks to come up with $800 billion bailout that no one had time to read). To place this in context, if the average person was asked to find a similar savings in their personal budget, they would just have to sacrifice buying a single latte at Starbucks sometime during the year.

Supposedly, Obama's behavioral psychologist staff discovered that the average person has no noticeable mental change when presented with the values $10,000, $10 million or $10 trillion. These values all sound like a lot of money to the average person and Obama is banking on this fact when he tries to manipulate us with numbers.

Baa baa baa....

Personal responsibility; You won't find those words in Obama's dictionary

Another notable occurrence at the Americas Summit:

When confronted by an America-bashing 50 minute rant by Daniel Ortega (yes, the former Sandinista), Obama said, as a retort: “I am very grateful that President Ortega didn’t blame me for things that happened when I was three months old.” This is the schoolyard equivalent of "don't look at me, he did it!". It is also, unfortunately, a disturbing personal trait of our new president in which he refuses to accept any degree of responsibility (this topic is covered succinctly at Legal Insurrection). It also illustrates, yet again, how willing he is to throw anyone under the bus in order to shield himself from criticism (we know about his "racist" white grandmother), even the people of his very own country who chose him to lead. Last, it shows the true depths of his narcissism; he truly believes that everything is about him.

Where’s Waldo?

For years now, the left has charged that the United States is too aggressive in its foreign policy, all across the globe: e.g. they believe that our support of Israel has perpetuated the suffering, not only of the Palestinians, but of the peoples of the Middle East as a whole; that our support of former Soviet Bloc countries in Eastern Europe is unnecessarily provoking our old adversary, Russia; that multilateral solutions (i.e. the UN) are the best way solve a number of international crises, from North Korea to Iran. They are now hopeful that, with cooler heads in charge (read: the cowboy is gone), we will finally pull back from the world and be more ‘tolerant’ and able to ‘listen’ to the so-called legitimate concerns of our enemies. They further believe that a world with diminished U.S. influence will actually be more stable and peaceful than one in which we are full engaged.

However, they seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of (or are desperately trying to re-write) history: Namely, that it was in fact our ‘arrogant’ engagement that has resulted in a stable, war-free, and largely democratic Europe and Asia for more than 50 years. More importantly though, looking toward the future, they seem to have no understanding of a very important maxim first stated by Aristotle: Nature abhors a vacuum. This maxim is true not only in the physical world, but also in the geopolitical: when one power diminishes in influence, by definition, another must and will take its place, because a vacuum, by its nature, desires to be filled.

So what does our teleprompter-in-chief do? First he goes to Europe, for the G20 meeting, and apologizes for our ‘arrogance’, thus supporting the claims by the left that that is in fact what we have been and what we are. While there, as has been noted on this blog and elsewhere, he finds it appropriate to subjugate himself, and by proxy the whole of the U.S., to the royalty of an unelected kingdom. Now he has diminished the status of the U.S. one step further, by placing himself in a non-descript position in a photo of all of the leaders of the Americas at the Americas summit (see below). Referring to my title, “Where’s Waldo?”, see if you can find Obama in the picture within 60 seconds….ready, go!...

...Yeah, me neither.

Obama is supposed to be the leader of the free world. He is supposed to stand up for the oppressed in our hemisphere and show them a way forward, to prosperity and happiness. Instead what we get, in this picture-worth -a-thousand-words moment, is a man who chooses not to lead, who instead stands back to let others take his place. Whom does he allow, instead, to show the way forward?...Bolivia’s Evo Morales, who believes that Zimbabwe-style expropriation is the way forward, and Brazil’s Lula, who last week blamed “white people with blue eyes” for the financial crisis, each took center stage. Nature abhors a vacuum; and unfortunately for our long-term security, and for the futures of millions in Central and South America, the vacuum that Obama is creating will be eagerly filled by those who have their own visions of what the future of the Americas should look like.

Peter Pan Syndrome: Some Liberals Never Grow Up

A recent Rasmussen poll has found that just 53 percent of Americans think that capitalism offers a better economic model than socialism. Although it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to guess that the breakdown of those numbers would reveal that more Democrats favored socialism as compared to Republicans, what was revealing was what age group Democrats and Republicans most closely matched.

Democrats prefer socialism to the tune of 30 percent with 31 percent undecided, while a whopping 92 percent of Republicans favor capitalism. With regard to the age-trend, 33% of the under 30 crowd are for socialism and 30 percent are undecided, while in the over 40 crowd only 13 percent prefer socialism (keep in mind that this 13 percent is still tainted by Woodstock hippies). In short, liberals’ ideas very closely match those of idealistic youngsters, who have yet to take on real responsibilities in their lives. By contrast, Republicans’ views more closely match the age-wizened.

So what, you ask, can we conclude beyond reasonable doubt? Well, one obvious interpretation is that the minds of many liberals haven’t advanced beyond the crude economic formulations that are bandied about during first year college humanities courses…e.g. poverty: bad must mean welfare: good.

…And they called George Bush dumb.

Rep Barbara Lee D Ca, on assignment.

" Quite simply, Rep. Cohen will have to accept what the rest of the country will have to accept- there has been an unofficial "white caucus" for over 200 years, and now it's our turn to say who can join the the club."

" He does not and cannot meet the membership criteria, unless he can change his skin color ....... we will not allow white America to infringe on our goal."

These statements by Rep. William Lacey Clay Jr. D Mo, on Rep Steve Cohen 's, Dem TN, attempt to join the Congressional Black Congress.

Rep. J.C.Watts R OK, refused inclusion in the same group stating "they said I sold out and became an "uncle tom".....I think they are race-hustling poverty pimps"

This same Black Caucus is currently busy sucking-up to the socio-fascist Raul-Fidel Castro thugs in Cuba this past week. Whats next......Iran, The Nutty North?
