Heroes?

Today, ABC News outed the two individuals who supposedly came up with the waterboarding interrogation technique. Trying to get us to revile these guys, they are not very convincing:

The new memos also show waterboarding was used "with far greater frequency than initially indicated" to even those in the CIA.
Abu Zubaydah was water boarded at least 83 times and Khalid Sheikh Mohamed at least 183 times.

What they fail to mention is that before the 184th waterboarding session, Mohamed finally told his interrogators about the plot to fly planes into LA buildings. I guess one can argue that the technique is in fact effective and saved countless US lives. Should these two men be considered heroes?

Swine Flu--Time for a little perspective

Have you bought your fashionable Swine-Flu surgical mask yet? Have you stocked up on provisions for the eventual downfall of civilization that the flu might cause? Have you cancelled your family vacation or business plans due to this imminent disaster?

Are you starting to get just a little feeling of déjà vu?

Wasn't SARS supposed to be a devastating pandemic? What about the deadly H5N1 Avian flu virus?

The fact of the matter is that SARS and H5N1 had less impact globally than your typical variant of the common cold (influenza virus). Each year, almost 30,000 people in the U.S. die from the common cold, and the number of deaths, worldwide, is at least 500,000.---that is an average of 82 deaths in the U.S. every day, every year!

...And not a peep from the local news about it...because normal events don't sell papers or airtime. Just a little perspective.

UPDATE:
Well, that didn't take long....Now scientists are saying that the "swine flu" isn't all that the politicians are making it out to be.

Comedy Gold

A celebration of Obama's first 100 days of throwing people under the bus:

Can these guys do ANYTHING right?!

I could go on-and-on about what an asinine decision it was for the Obama administration to perform a "photo-Op" for their new jumbo jet over New York freakin' City, but the filmed reaction of real New Yorkers pretty much trumps any commentary...did I mention that the fools thought it would be a good idea to tail the jumbo with a freakin' fighter jet?!!

A Day In Bizarro World

  1. Obama does not lift a finger to fight the scum bag ACLU from getting pictures of prisoner 'abuse' that they will immediately release to the world.
  2. The man who made over $100 million last year peddling his 'sky is falling' global warming dribble testifies in Congress as a witness to global warming.
  3. Illegal aliens crossing the open Mexican border bring in a new deadly flu strain.
  4. Congress to give Obama a '100 day' gift by using a loop hole in a bogus fast-track 'budget reconciliation' procedure to ramrod universal healthcare through Congress without requiring 60+ votes. The only problem is that it must be done within 35 hours, so the fate of 17 percent of our economy will not be given the due diligence it requires. But hey, look at the what Obama accomplished in first 100 days!

When will the citizens of the US wake up and stop taking this abuse in power by our elected leaders. I, for one, am starting to get furious and impatient.

Pulling The Wool Over The Eyes of The Sheeple

A couple of weeks ago, $8 billion in earmarks was just a small fraction of the budget and was not a big deal. Yesterday, saving $100 million in the budget is a lot of money to most people.

Probably in response to the Teabag protests, Obama ordered that $100 million in savings be found in the $4 trillion budget in the next 90 days (it only took them about 2 weeks to come up with $800 billion bailout that no one had time to read). To place this in context, if the average person was asked to find a similar savings in their personal budget, they would just have to sacrifice buying a single latte at Starbucks sometime during the year.

Supposedly, Obama's behavioral psychologist staff discovered that the average person has no noticeable mental change when presented with the values $10,000, $10 million or $10 trillion. These values all sound like a lot of money to the average person and Obama is banking on this fact when he tries to manipulate us with numbers.

Baa baa baa....

Personal responsibility; You won't find those words in Obama's dictionary

Another notable occurrence at the Americas Summit:

When confronted by an America-bashing 50 minute rant by Daniel Ortega (yes, the former Sandinista), Obama said, as a retort: “I am very grateful that President Ortega didn’t blame me for things that happened when I was three months old.” This is the schoolyard equivalent of "don't look at me, he did it!". It is also, unfortunately, a disturbing personal trait of our new president in which he refuses to accept any degree of responsibility (this topic is covered succinctly at Legal Insurrection). It also illustrates, yet again, how willing he is to throw anyone under the bus in order to shield himself from criticism (we know about his "racist" white grandmother), even the people of his very own country who chose him to lead. Last, it shows the true depths of his narcissism; he truly believes that everything is about him.

Where’s Waldo?

For years now, the left has charged that the United States is too aggressive in its foreign policy, all across the globe: e.g. they believe that our support of Israel has perpetuated the suffering, not only of the Palestinians, but of the peoples of the Middle East as a whole; that our support of former Soviet Bloc countries in Eastern Europe is unnecessarily provoking our old adversary, Russia; that multilateral solutions (i.e. the UN) are the best way solve a number of international crises, from North Korea to Iran. They are now hopeful that, with cooler heads in charge (read: the cowboy is gone), we will finally pull back from the world and be more ‘tolerant’ and able to ‘listen’ to the so-called legitimate concerns of our enemies. They further believe that a world with diminished U.S. influence will actually be more stable and peaceful than one in which we are full engaged.

However, they seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of (or are desperately trying to re-write) history: Namely, that it was in fact our ‘arrogant’ engagement that has resulted in a stable, war-free, and largely democratic Europe and Asia for more than 50 years. More importantly though, looking toward the future, they seem to have no understanding of a very important maxim first stated by Aristotle: Nature abhors a vacuum. This maxim is true not only in the physical world, but also in the geopolitical: when one power diminishes in influence, by definition, another must and will take its place, because a vacuum, by its nature, desires to be filled.

So what does our teleprompter-in-chief do? First he goes to Europe, for the G20 meeting, and apologizes for our ‘arrogance’, thus supporting the claims by the left that that is in fact what we have been and what we are. While there, as has been noted on this blog and elsewhere, he finds it appropriate to subjugate himself, and by proxy the whole of the U.S., to the royalty of an unelected kingdom. Now he has diminished the status of the U.S. one step further, by placing himself in a non-descript position in a photo of all of the leaders of the Americas at the Americas summit (see below). Referring to my title, “Where’s Waldo?”, see if you can find Obama in the picture within 60 seconds….ready, go!...

...Yeah, me neither.

Obama is supposed to be the leader of the free world. He is supposed to stand up for the oppressed in our hemisphere and show them a way forward, to prosperity and happiness. Instead what we get, in this picture-worth -a-thousand-words moment, is a man who chooses not to lead, who instead stands back to let others take his place. Whom does he allow, instead, to show the way forward?...Bolivia’s Evo Morales, who believes that Zimbabwe-style expropriation is the way forward, and Brazil’s Lula, who last week blamed “white people with blue eyes” for the financial crisis, each took center stage. Nature abhors a vacuum; and unfortunately for our long-term security, and for the futures of millions in Central and South America, the vacuum that Obama is creating will be eagerly filled by those who have their own visions of what the future of the Americas should look like.

The Mullally Report Is Subject To DHS Probe

Two of the contributors on The Mullally Report were discovered to be US military veterans. Furthermore after initial review, the content of the blog appears to be mostly slanted to the right. In light of the latest warning from DHS, the agency has issued a probe into the possibility that all contributors may in fact be right-wing extremists and a potential danger to US security.

Obama: A Week In Review

  1. Would not visit the Normandy American Cemetery to honor our fallen heroes - a first for a US President since WWII
  2. Did visit a mosque in Turkey
  3. Did bow to a king - a first for a US President ever
  4. Said the US is arrogant
  5. Said the US is not a Christian country
  6. Allows 3 skinny pirates to make a mockery of the US Navy
  7. Secretly signs 'earmark' bill. US deficit soars to record level in past three months
  8. Asks Congress to start work on developing 'a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants'

Not bad for one week...

Peter Pan Syndrome: Some Liberals Never Grow Up

A recent Rasmussen poll has found that just 53 percent of Americans think that capitalism offers a better economic model than socialism. Although it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to guess that the breakdown of those numbers would reveal that more Democrats favored socialism as compared to Republicans, what was revealing was what age group Democrats and Republicans most closely matched.

Democrats prefer socialism to the tune of 30 percent with 31 percent undecided, while a whopping 92 percent of Republicans favor capitalism. With regard to the age-trend, 33% of the under 30 crowd are for socialism and 30 percent are undecided, while in the over 40 crowd only 13 percent prefer socialism (keep in mind that this 13 percent is still tainted by Woodstock hippies). In short, liberals’ ideas very closely match those of idealistic youngsters, who have yet to take on real responsibilities in their lives. By contrast, Republicans’ views more closely match the age-wizened.

So what, you ask, can we conclude beyond reasonable doubt? Well, one obvious interpretation is that the minds of many liberals haven’t advanced beyond the crude economic formulations that are bandied about during first year college humanities courses…e.g. poverty: bad must mean welfare: good.

…And they called George Bush dumb.

Rep Barbara Lee D Ca, on assignment.

" Quite simply, Rep. Cohen will have to accept what the rest of the country will have to accept- there has been an unofficial "white caucus" for over 200 years, and now it's our turn to say who can join the the club."

" He does not and cannot meet the membership criteria, unless he can change his skin color ....... we will not allow white America to infringe on our goal."

These statements by Rep. William Lacey Clay Jr. D Mo, on Rep Steve Cohen 's, Dem TN, attempt to join the Congressional Black Congress.

Rep. J.C.Watts R OK, refused inclusion in the same group stating "they said I sold out and became an "uncle tom".....I think they are race-hustling poverty pimps"

This same Black Caucus is currently busy sucking-up to the socio-fascist Raul-Fidel Castro thugs in Cuba this past week. Whats next......Iran, The Nutty North?

ALL THE GNUS FIT TO PRINT

According to a New York Times article,we have doctors, nurses, etc.,that are aiding and abetting our ability to get crucial information out of enemy combatants.
The testimony to these infractions are derived by the "International Committee Of Services".
This is based totaley on the "unbiased" reports of Al Quida prisoners in US detention".
"Hey they wouldn't stretch the truth would they"?
Red Cross investigators complained that these medical personal did not intervene in so called tortures, and are ,as a result ,coconspiritors to such mean methods of extracting information, as "waterboarding, isolation, sleep deprivation". Hey, Idi Amin, Joe Stalin ,Ho Chi Min, et al would never stoop so low!
Great work Time-ossars,the country realy trust trusts all you "newsbats".

LIBBY TOWN '' BREAKING NEWS''

According to the AP, BO has just fired Rick Wagoner, the chairman of GM, citing his incompetence,in running the private company.
The "Anointed One", also intends to name his replacement. According to his tax cheating treasury muscle man, this practice will also apply to several other "non government"institutions , in the guise of "restructuring" so they will emerge stronger from the current fiscal crisis.
Does this sound like the current administration is usurping powers never intended for them by the constitution? Does it stink of socialism,(think Castro, Chavez, North Korea et al)?
Just who will be his replacements (commissars), Barney Frank, Bill Ayers maybe even the debauched Ted Kennedy?
This stuff should scare the hell out of every one of us.

B O, in another controversial appointment, has selected Al Sharpten as a candidate for ambassador to the Peoples Republic Of The Gazza Strip.

The reverent was quoted as saying ,"I know these bomb tossers like my own family."

When asked by a reporter to be more specific, an enraged Sharpton claimed "this is more racist than the Tamana Brawley reporting." "Whitey's at it again.!!!"
